Zagreb Airport to Ljubljana: Transfers and Taxi
Ljubljana is, for a capital city, quite small with only 287,000 residents. You are able to walk from one side of its historic centre to the other in about 15 minutes. Except, this isn’t the sort of place you want to zoom through.
They have a saying there: “small by surface area, large by quality of life.” So, while it is possible to quickly see all the city sights in a day, it’s not that sort of city. This is a place where you can slow down, relax and enjoy yourself.
Fun fact: legend has it that this city was founded by Jason and the Argonauts on their way back from stealing the Golden Fleece.
Transfers from Zagreb Airport to Ljubljana
If you’re looking for the most convenient, fastest and affordable way to get from the air hub to the destination, you may want to use our service.
It costs $138USD and takes around an hour and 35 minutes. Our service offers a range of different transport options to cater to travelling parts of two to six people.
The service also comes with free cancellation should anything unfortunate happen to your travel plans. And the driver will be waiting for you with a nameplate, so you can leave the air hub and get to your accommodation with as few interruptions as possible.
Taxi from Zagreb Airport to Ljubljana
The price is $158USD if you pre-book your car. If you line at the air hub rank you won’t get a fixed fare as these cabs run solely off the metre.
On holidays, Sundays, and late-night hours there is a 20% surcharge.
If you are considering getting a cab, and don’t mind paying more than a transfer, you should pre-book it with one of the reputable companies. EkoTaxi and Cammeo are the biggest companies in Croatia and both have apps you can download.
Public Transport
There are three public transport options for this journey. The regular bus, the night bus, and the bus plus tram plus train.
The regular bus takes about four hours and costs around $20USD, and leaves every 30 minutes from the air hub, you would then need to get off at Zagreb – Autobusni Kolodvor and change bus.
You will need the N981, N952, N880, N953, N955 or the 900. However, this bus only leaves every four hours. So, be sure to time your arrival as close to the bus’s departure time as possible.
The night bus is pretty much the same price and travel plan as the regular bus with two important differences. Once you get to Zagreb, there are only two bus numbers you can take, N973 or the N900, and they only leave once a day.
The third option is the bus/tram/car/train option, and it takes five hours. This includes the hour and 24 minutes you will spend in transit, and the brief car ride you’ll need to take between tram station and train station—but it only costs $20USD.
Or: you could hire a transfer, spend $138USD ($20 cheaper than a taxi) and be at your destination in under an hour and 40 minutes (three to four hours faster than public transport).
